Rubus deliciosus - Delicious Raspberry! A weed or a brave plant doing it’s thing?!
This week’s Human Design energy (Gate 8) is all about self-expression.
Not the curated, content-strategy kind. The real kind. The kind where you stop asking for permission and start showing up as yourself - sensitive, ambitious, intuitive and all.
Which sounds lovely…
Until your brain kicks in with:
“What if it’s too much?”
“What if no one gets it?”
“What if I mess it up?”
“What if someone tells me they hate it?”
Let me tell you, I’ve been there. I used to tell a different part of the story of how I started this business because I was scared people would think I was a right weirdo.
I am now fully embracing my brilliant weirdness!
I was on maternity leave and feeding porridge to my baby one morning. Feeling completely disillusioned with my job and craving something way more meaningful but not having a clue where to start (with a Plant Science degree and 8 years of experience as a professional photographer - I couldn’t see how they fitted together).
I looked up the flower essence I’d been taking. A random one on the shelf that wasn’t even for me, but I had felt drawn to.
Wild Oat. The flower essence for finding your life direction….goosebumps!
In that exact moment, I heard it:
“This is what you’re here for.”
I feel like the Wild Oat was guiding me by literally communicating with me. Yeah, I speak to plants, that goes down so well at school pick up….
It felt huge. Ridiculous. Like something I should probably keep to myself.
And for a while, I did.
But here’s what I’ve learned as a happiness coach for sensitive entrepreneurs:
The thing you’re scared to say is probably the thing that’s going to help someone else.
So if Gate 8 is lighting something up in you this week — a message you want to share, a story you’ve been holding back, a version of your work that feels like your truth, this is your sign to start.
You don’t need to shout.
But you do get to stop pretending you’re not meant for something more and bravely speak up, even if it is only to one person at first!
An emotional alchemy ritual for Human Design Gate 8 - botanicals, journaling and tapping
Step 1: Choose your Bach flower essence for emotional support
If you’re scared to speak up, or feel like your ideas aren’t valid unless someone else approves of them, these essences can help.
Start by choosing the essence that calls you most. Place a few drops under your tongue, in water and sip as you journal and tap. You can use both at the same time as well.
Cerato – for trusting your own inner wisdom (especially when you’re constantly asking every woman and her cat for validation!)
Larch – for self-belief and finding the courage to share what’s truly yours to say
Step 2: Journal it out
Let the Gate 8 energy guide your words.
What am I scared to express in my business because I’m afraid it’s too much, too weird or not professional enough?
What would I say if I felt safe to say ANYTHING?
Step 3: Tapping script for Human Design Gate 8
A short guided sequence to support sensitive entrepreneurs who are scared to be fully seen.
If you’re new to EFT, follow this step-by-step guide. It includes a diagram of the tapping points to follow.
Side of the hand:
Even though I’m scared to show up as my full self maybe I could relax enough to find my courage
Even though I worry I’ll be too much, or not enough, or just get it wrong I am willing to try
Even though part of me wants to hide, I’m open to the possibility that I can make a real difference to people
Top of the head (point 1):
There’s a part of me that wants to be seen
Eyebrow:
But another part is terrified of what people will think
Side of the eye:
What if I mess it up? What if they don’t get me?
Under the eye:
What if I share what’s real and it’s just… too much?
Under the nose:
Or not professional enough
Not polished enough
Not “Instagram enough”
Chin:
I keep holding back, even though I know I’m here for more
Collarbone:
I’ve got ideas that feel so true, but I don’t feel brave enough to share them
Under the arm:
I’m tired of hiding. But I’m scared to be fully seen
Top of the head:
It feels safer to blend in, even though I don’t want to anymore
Eyebrow:
What if I could start with just one brave step?
Side of the eye:
What if I don’t have to show everything, all at once?
Under the eye:
What if I could trust that the people I’m here for will love what I have to say?
Under the nose:
Maybe my sensitivity is actually part of what makes my voice matter
Chin:
Maybe this idea isn’t “too much” . Maybe it’s exactly what someone else needs
Collarbone:
I don’t have to shout. I just have to show up even if my voice shakes or I ramble on and go off on a few tangents! (Delete as appropriate!)
Under the arm:
This is the week I start trusting my voice, my timing, and my way!
